General Rules
By entering a class with Natural-e you are agreeing to abide by these Rules and the associated Terms and Conditions. Horse activities are dangerous and horses can act in a sudden and unpredictable (changeable) way, especially when frightened or hurt. Serious INJURY or DEATH may result from horse activities. By downloading tests, practicing tests or entering a class, you agree to take part at your own risk and acknowledge and agree as a condition of participating that neither Natural-e or any subdivisions thereof, officials, volunteers, any persons, promoters, sponsors, advertisers, owners and lessees of premises used to conduct a test filming or practice, shall be under any liability for your death or any bodily injury, loss or damage which may be sustained or incurred by you, as a result of participation in or being present at a test filming or practice. Horses entered in the ridden tests must be of a suitable age to ride. Entries are limited to those living in the UK. Any person can enter a class and does not need to be a member of or affiliated to any horsemanship organisation or brand. Junior handlers under the age of 16 years must have parental permission. Any horse and handler combination may only submit one video entry per class. Natural-e reserves the right to refuse an entry. Hard hats must be worn at all times when riding. The judge’s decision is final. Copyright laws must be adhered to and Natural-e will not be liable for any costs as a result of infringement by any competitors or third parties. Horse and handler combinations may enter more than one class; however, they are not permitted to enter a class more than one level below their highest entry. Horses and ponies can be used by more than one handler for a separate entry. Any handler using excessive force or treating their horse badly will be disqualified. Any music used in the Freestyle to Music classes must comply with YouTube’s copyright rules.

Videoing the Test
Each test video can only be entered for one class. They are not permitted to be entered for multiple classes. Test videos must not be entered if they have previously been judged in any other competition. Any video that is suspected to have been filmed during another competition will be refused and the competitor is not entitled to a refund. The test must be videoed from Position 5 (see below). The test must be videoed in a square arena as laid out below. Each test will have its own arena plan attached to it. The test may video on any device, but the video must be of good quality and clear.  Any test video’s that Natural-e deems to be of unsuitable or poor quality will be rejected. The competitor will the offered the opportunity to submit another video and no extra costs, should the competitor decide not to submit another video, then no refund shall be given. Competitors may use a camera on a stand but it must show the whole area, as laid out in the diagram below. The person videoing may zoom in and out, however the horse and handler must remain in the centre of the frame and be in full view at all times. Any video entries that are received after the close of the class will be rejected and no refund will be given. The sound must be recorded. Music for Freestyle to Music classes must be played live and must not be overlaid onto the video afterwards. The handler is permitted to have a caller, however must not receive any coaching or other instructions during the test. The video must start before the horse and handler enters the arena at Position 1, and must not stop until the horse and handler has completed the last manoeuvre. The maximum length of each test is 6 minutes. Any elements of the test that have not been completed in this time will not be judged.

Entries, Cancellation and Disqualification
Entries can be submitted at any time during the month. Entries will be judged and placed according to the following scoring system:

1st – 70% and above

2nd – 66% - 69.99%

3rd – 62% - 65.99%

4th – 58% - 61.99%

5th – 54% - 57.99%

6th – 50% - 53.99%

Special – 49.99% and below

The entry fees for each class are shown on the main Natural-e page. Natural-e reserves the right to change the entry fees at any time. Refunds will not be made except in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the management. Such cases will be dealt with on an individual basis. The closing date for each competition will be specified on the Natural-e page. After this time entries and videos cannot be received and no refunds will be made. Any video entries that are received after the close of the class will be rejected and no refund will be given. Any competitor that decides to withdraw after payment has been made, their entry will not be entitled to a refund. If a competitor is disqualified, they will not be entitled to a refund.

Dress and Tack

Suitable footwear with a heel must be worn. A hard hat conforming to current PAS015/SNELL standards is required for all ridden tests. A head collar, rope halter or a bridle may be used. The length of line to be used is outlined on the test sheets. Any type of stick can be used. Handlers using the stick with excessive force will be penalised or disqualified at the judge’s discretion.
Rosettes and Test Sheets
The rosettes will be awarded to all entrants. Place rosettes are awarded depending on the score achieved.

1st – 70% and above

2nd – 66% - 69.99%

3rd – 62% - 65.99%

4th – 58% - 61.99%

5th – 54% - 57.99%

6th – 50% - 53.99%

Special – 49.99% and below

Rosettes will be sent to competitors via post upon completion of judging and publication of results. Natural-e is not responsible for rosettes going missing in the post and Natural-e will retain proof of postage. It is the competitor’s responsibility to keep their address and details up to date. Should you fail to do this and rosettes get posted to the wrong address, then Natural-e will not refund or replace.

Marking System
The scale of marks is as follows: 10 Excellent 9 Very Good 8 Good 7 Fairly Good 6 Satisfactory 5 Sufficient 4 Insufficient 3 Fairly Bad 2 Bad 1 Very Bad 0 Not Executed. The marks 10 and 0 should be awarded where the performance warrants their use. (“Not executed” means that nothing required has been performed). Results will be published as soon as marking has been completed and verified.

The arena will be laid out as below. Each test sheet will provide details of where to layout additional obstacles such as poles.
